Communication is KEY!

(Redondo Beach Pier, CA)

Our family traveled this week to Los Angeles, CA to be there when my father inlaw arrives back from overseas as well as attend their village Tefisi Reunion. It was 3 days long and we got to attend part of it, as well as celebrate our 18th anniversary. We were married August 2nd, 2005 and we've made it over the hurdles of 10 years and we come up to our 20th anniversary in 2025. I find that we are the happiest and we aim for supporting one another in completing both of our education and would like to continue to start a family as healthy as we can and do our best to fulfill our dreams. I had to juggle my studies this week and make sure that I completed my classes and enjoy our trip.

I thought I understood the difference between Complaint and Criticism. I guess when you put it into perspective in terms of marriage. I can see that when I have a disagreement with my husband that it is important how I address my frustrations. When my husband and I were to disagree, or I would be upset, earlier in my marriage we would have large arguments about who was right and who was wrong. We shouted out nonsense at each other, or things that would break us down so we could feel better. In the end, it didn't do anything to provide a resolution. It created silence for a couple days until one would want to reconcile. I see the differences from year one to year eighteen and I am grateful for the journey that had brought me at this point in my life. I love my husband more and more each day and I respect my marriage to the point that work, school, and everything else don't matter. I put my marriage at the top of my priorities as well as the goals we have for our little family.

PROGRESSION - EDUCATED - SELF RELIANCE - DEBT FREE

KAAFI FAMILY GOALS:

Purchase/Own our first home

Complete our education

Become Parents

Start a family business/Invest

We also had to create a meme for our discussion board. I liked what I put together and I enjoyed making this from our readings this week.

It has been a crazy month of traveling, juggling schedules, and budgets being spent like crazy. I think there is never enough time in the world to truly get work done until time passes by. I have been able to spend time with my husband and then when it's time to return to work. The will to work becomes redundant at some point. After being in California a second time in two months. We have sat down to settle ourselves in preparation to move to where is unknown as we are working to purchase our first home. I was able to complete the Spring semester and also meet with my advisor. I was able to find out that I am doing good with my studies and that I will be able to graduate next spring. I have come very far from starting Pathway and continuing to BYU-Idaho with a major. I am filled with gratitude for what and who I have in my life and I appreciate all that has been given to our little family as we navigate our lives. I love my husband and I am grateful for the love our Heavenly Father has for us and we have faith and hope for blessings to come down on us.
